Use of force will lead us nowhere: NSA Janjua tells Indian High Commissioner

ISLAMABAD: National Security Adviser Nasser Khan Janjua in a call with Indian High Commissioner Ajay Bisaria discussed the recent worsening situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK), stated a press release by the Foreign Office.

Janjua expressed serious concerns over the ongoing human rights violations in IoK, saying the use of force will "lead us nowhere" and only further worsen the fragile situation.



“Pakistan is deeply committed to the cause of Kashmir and supports the resolution of this issue politically and according to the aspirations of Kashmiri people. Dialogue is the only way forward to resolve our disputes,” he added.

The two diplomats also discussed how bilateral relations between the two countries could be improved as Janjua stated: "Pakistan is committed to resolving all outstanding issues through comprehensive dialogues."

He reiterated that Pakistan is pursuing the policy of friendly relations with all its neighbouring countries including normalcy of relationship with India.

Bisara acknowledged that Pakistan and India definitely need to improve their bilateral relations and said: “both countries have immense potential to improve the relationship, and cater to each other’s needs”.



He also suggested taking small steps to improve bilateral relations including exchange of prisoners, visits of medical teams and trade initiatives. “We can build on these small steps between us and take the relationship towards normalcy to address the bigger issues,” he added.

Both sides agreed to explore the possibilities of more cooperation and of improving bilateral relations to ultimately move towards comprehensive process of dialogue.
