The order states that certain pillion riders "are likely to resort to violence and acts of sabotage aimed at disruption peace and tranquility causing damage to public life during the rehearsals/flay past on Pakistan Day parade being on held on March 23".
Pakistan Day parade: Expressway to remain shut for three days
Senior citizens, women, children and media persons are exempted from the ban.
The order will remain enforced for a period of three days – from March 21 to 23.
Pakistan Day security: Safe City cameras to be installed along parade route
The Islamabad Expressway will also remain closed for all traffic for three days (March 19, 21, and 23) owing to preparations for and the Pakistan Day parade at the Parade Ground.
Capital police have also installed security cameras along the route for the parade. According to a document from the office of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) District Magistrate, the Safe City Project will set up cameras at key points at the venue and along major routes.
