Awami Theatre Festival showcases Balochi drama

The Awami Theatre Festival at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, continued to enthrall audiences with riveting performances as the festival entered its 16th day.
The 16th day saw the staging of the Balochi drama "Kanda Na Baiya", written and directed by Danish Baloch. The story centres on a humble family navigating the struggles of daily life.
The head of the household, a former international boxer, and his family face financial and social challenges, from rickshaw payments to electricity bills and political pressures.
Through the perspective of the youngest member, Akbar, the drama highlights hope for the future, emphasising education, hard work, and contributing to the country's development.
The cast - Abid Sober, Agha Qadir, Asma Munir, Atta Deedag, Atta Gul, Javed Baloch, Lala Muhammad Askani, Muqadas Baloch, Rafeeq Laasi, Sagar Siddiqui, Shakeel Murad, Waqas Baloch, and Zeeshan Danish - brought life and authenticity to the story, captivating audiences with their earnest portrayals and strong emotional arcs.
