LAHORE: The Punjab Agriculture Department is organising the International Agri-Tech 2018 Expo, which is expected to be the country’s biggest such event, for the promotion of agriculture machinery at the Lahore Expo Centre on April 6 and 7. A spokesperson for the agriculture department said the exhibition’s prime purpose was to promote advanced mechanisation and educate the farming community on how to make use of hi-tech machinery at the farm level. He said the exhibition could prove to be a blessing for the agriculture sector as it would be the first time importers and exporters of advanced agriculture machinery would find a platform providing opportunities for their businesses to grow. The official said farmers would also be provided with proper knowledge about how to use hi-tech services which would help in reducing the input cost and expanding per acre yield without hassle.
