The Young Doctors Association (YDA) along with paramedical staff shut down outpatient departments (OPDs) on Tuesday in order to coerce the government into fulfilling their demands.
Young doctors’ strike a nightmare for patients
The young doctors said that if their demands of increase in salaries and provision of adequate facilities were not met, they would hold hostage the Chief Minster House.
They vowed to continue their strike until their demands were met.
They said that both the health and home minsters had earlier promised to meet their demands but they failed to deliver.
They said, “We understand the difficulties of outdoor patients, the government made promises with us, but our legitimate demands have not yet been met.”
