Nicl scam: Court releases three accused

The Sindh High Court has accepted the acquittal plea of three NICL officers in the NICL scam case.

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has accepted the acquittal plea of three National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) officers in the NICL scam case.

Officers Zahoor, Zahid Hussain and Imtiaz Shaikh were being tried in the federal anti-corruption courts and were accused of embezzling funds worth millions of rupees, along with former NICL chairman Ayaz Khan Niazi.

The court allowed the three men to be released after a payment of Rs300,000 as penalty.
