Uber, an international smartphone app that has redefined the transport industry in more than 600 cities all over the globe recently announced its partnership for the third HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018 after it signed a partnership with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
This innovative giant continues to have a large global presence mainly because it endeavours to celebrate the local culture. It rightly identified that there is nothing that unites Pakistanis more than cricket. This signing marks the brand’s commitment to strengthen the local cricket industry.
It is a big moment for Uber since it used the Uber Chopper to transport the #HBLPSL2018 trophy for the unveiling ceremony in Dubai on February 20, 2018. The trophy was accompanied by representatives from Uber, HBL and PSL including: Mahvish Omer (Head of Ticketing and Special Projects PCB), Naveed Asghar (Chief Marketing Officer HBL) and Ayesha Aleem (Partnerships Manager Uber).
The chopper initially carried the trophy from Atlantis, Dubai to Me’aseim. Daren Sammy, captain of the winning team (Peshawar Zalmi) from last year’s PSL was honoured with the first glimpse of the trophy. It was then presented to the captains of the teams playing in PSL 2018 who took it to the Dubai Stadium for the unveiling ceremony.
