Mirpurkhas BISE Chairperson Prof Barkat Haideri, Controller of Examinations Anwar Aleem Khanzada and six other officers were nominated in an FIR registered in Mirpurkhas on Saturday on the complaint of an ACE officer, Khuda Bux Laghari.
According to the FIR, a team led by DSP Imran Dawach of ACE Karachi raided the board office in Mirpurkhas and seized records of the examinations and finances. Subsequently, the board's officials were summoned for interrogation at the ACE Karachi office.
Although the case has been lodged, none of the nominated officers has been arrested as yet.

Talking to the local media, both Prof Haideri and Khanzada acknowledged that corruption existed in the board. However, they claimed that they recently took measures which drastically curbed the practice. "We gave timely and transparent results of the board exams and issued quality certificates that can't be replicated," Khanzada said.
The board officers also claimed that they raised the standard of paper checking, adding that the Mirpurkhas board announced examination results before any other board in the province. The officers also announced that they would face charges leveled against them in court.
