We are getting closer to Zainab’s murderer: CM

Shehbaz Sharif addresses legal investigation authorities, requests cooperation from the people of Kasur

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Wednesday the provincial government and all of its line departments were working hard to arrest the culprit(s) involved in Zainab’s murder.

“The investigation is being processed on scientific grounds. The culprit(s) will be brought to book soon and they will meet their logical end under the law. The JIT is working day and night to arrest the criminal(s). Police, special branch, NADRA, Punjab Forensic Science Agency and all other line departments are following the case in an organised manner,” he said.

“No stone will be left unturned to arrest the criminal(s) and proactive support of the federal intelligence agencies has also been gained in this case. I am personally supervising the progress on this case and it is my request that rumors should be avoided.”

He expressed these views while talking to the media persons after presiding over a meeting held at the DPO Office Kasur to review progress on the minor girl’s rape and murder case. He said it was his request to the people of Kasur especially the residents of the locality where Zainab lived, to lend a helping hand to the JIT.

“The name of the person and his family members will be kept secret if anyone provides any clue or useful information about the case.

I assure you that the person and his family will remain safe and secure who provide information about the hardened criminals involved in the case,” Shehbaz remarked.
