QUETTA: Change in the Balochistan Government was meant to bring a qualitative change in security matter to assure that people’s lives and property are protected, said Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo.

The CM said this while addressing a law and order meeting at the CM secretariat, and asked the officials not to offer mere traditional explanations on security lapses.

“This is not enough and you have to bring improvement. I am not bothered by what has happened in the past,” he said. The meeting was called to review the law and order situation, with a special reference of the killing of female polio workers and martyrdom of two Balochistan Constabulary men.

Targeted operation ‘to be intensified’ in Balochistan

Bizenjo said that the police had to remove all bottlenecks in the maintenance of public order to bring about credible security in the province.

The meeting was attended by the home minister, home secretary, IG Police, Quetta’s Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and officials from the intelligence agencies.

Bizenjo also extended a warning to the district police officers, deputy commissioners and all district officers and asked them to give more attention to the maintenance of security of life and property of the people.

He sarcastically remarked that most of them were found to be more interested in the collection of gratification on check posts and least bothered about the security of people.

During the meeting the CM also pledged to give a free hand to the police in performing their duties and assured them that there would be no interference.

Bizenjo also strongly condemned target killing of the polio workers, saying, “Our religion forbids such heinous crimes against humanity.”

He directed the police and other law enforcing agencies to unearth the real culprits.

Sharif terms change of Balochistan CM a joke with people

“The terrorists should be confronted on war footing and if need be, we are ready to slash our development budget and divert funds in fight against terror to make Balochistan a peaceful place to live,” the CM said.

Bizenjo gives up protocol

Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo directed the concerned officials not arrange a huge protocol on his movement and said that the people should not suffer because of the protocol enjoyed by the chief minister.

Bizenjo said, “My life is not more important than an ordinary citizen of this country. Thus the people should not suffer any more during the VIP movements in the city or elsewhere.”

There will be no traffic block or ‘Zero Traffic Policy’ during my movement, the chief minister instructed the concerned officials.
