SHC discontent over request for deed of compromise in Shahzeb murder case

Owing to the absence of the suspect’s lawyer, the court adjourned the hearing

Sindh High Court (SHC) expressed discontentment, on Tuesday, over the suspect's lawyer asking for the deed of compromise in the Shahzeb Khan murder case.

The hearing began, and SHC questioned, "on which legal premises is the deed is being demanded." The suspect's lawyer responded saying the deed was requested because the session court has ordered them to present the record.

Shahrukh Jatoi released on bail

The court expressing discontentment over the procurement of the deed of compromise by the suspects and the claimant party stated that within seven days it should be briefed that why and on which legal grounds, the deed of compromise was obtained.

Owing to the absence of the suspect’s lawyer, the court adjourned the hearing.

Meanwhile, the sessions pertaining to Shahzeb’s murder case over the application submitted by the Civil society are being held, and the on the orders of the interior minister, names of the nominated suspects have been put on the ECL in the hearing held yesterday at the SC.

Last month, a south district and sessions court ordered the release of Shahzeb Khan’s murderer Shahrukh Jatoi and three other accused after Shahzeb’s father Aurangzeb Khan submitted an affidavit requesting the approval of Jatoi’s bail.

Other accused in the murder case include Sajjad Talpur, Siraj Talpur and Ghulam Murtaza Lashari. In the affidavit, Aurangzeb agreed to pardon his son’s killer in the name of Allah and drop the case.
