While the killers of two Hindu brothers from Tharparkar remain unidentified, the police have arrested three people in a murder case of a man shot dead in Islamkot taluka.
Manesh, 28, a water tanker driver for a private company, was shot dead on Saturday in Meghwadh Mohala. The police believe that a personal dispute was the cause of the crime. They said that Tharparkar has witnessed such successive killings after decades.
SHO Islamkot Abdul Razzak Jamali said that an FIR was registered on the complaint of the victim’s father, Megho, who blamed his brother Punu and his sons Chandar, Kabeer and Chagan for the murder. The complainant claimed that an ongoing dispute between him and his brother was the cause of his son’s murder.

Jamali informed that Punu, Chandar and Kabeer were arrested a few hours after the incident while Chagan fled the village. “Chandar is believed to be the one who pulled the trigger that took Manesh's life,” he added.
DSP Ali Muhammad Khoso said that Punu claimed that Manesh was of bad character and that Punu had complained about Manesh's activities to his father. He also claimed that his son Chandar did not kill Manesh as he was visiting his parents for a few days on leave from his job in Karachi.
Apart from that, a shutter-down strike continued in some towns of Tharparkar in reaction to the killing of two trader brothers in Mithi taluka on January 5. Although the police have obtained a closed circuit television footage, showing the suspects’ uncovered faces, they are yet to be arrested.

Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal on Sunday mourned with the family of the traders, Dilip Kumar Maheshwari and Chandar Kumar Maheshwari, and assured that the police will soon arrest the culprits. "The police have collected the evidence. They [suspects] will be behind bars in no time," he said while talking to the media.
