Road accident claims woman’s life in Faisalabad

Abida Bibi and Afzal were riding a motorcycle when a speedy car hit them.

FAISALABAD: A woman was killed while her husband suffered serious injuries in a road accident in Thikriwala police limits.

A police official said that 35-year-old Afzal and his wife Abida were riding a motorcycle when a speedy vehicle hit their two-wheeler on Jhang Road near Thikriwala.

As a result, Abida Bibi died on the spot while Afzal was injured. Rescue officials shifted the injured and body to a local hospital for treatment and legal formalities.

A woman was electrocuted in the limits of Dijkot police. The police said that 32-year-old Nazia Bibi, a resident of Chak No 535-GB, was busy in chopping green fodder through an electric machine at her farm when she accidentally touched live electricity wires. As a result, she suffered a severe electric shock and died on the spot.

Meanwhile, two outlaws were killed in an encounter on Sargodha Road.

The police said a Dolphin Force team signalled four suspects on two motorcycles to stop near Ghausia Park in Gulistan Colony. However, they opened fire on the policemen and tried to escape.

The police also retaliated and during the encounter, two policemen Adeel and Shahid were injured while two outlaws Shehroz and Mohsin Ali were killed. However, two accomplices of the outlaws managed
to escape.

The injured policemen were shifted to a local hospital for treatment.

The accused were wanted to the police in a number of robbery and other cases. The police also confiscated weapons and a motorcycle from their custody.
