HYDERABAD:  Muhammad Ali Jamali, an under-trial prisoner, who was shot and injured in the Hyderabad District and Sessions Court on Thursday succumbed to injuries on Friday.

The cantonment police have lodged an FIR under sections 302 and 6/7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, nominating Shabbir Jamali and Lal Bux Zardari for the murder, both of whom are still at large.

The deceased, who was accused in a January, 2016, murder case, identified Jamali and Zardari as the assailants before his death, the police claimed.

Meanwhile, Sindh High Court Chief Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh has directed Hyderabad District and Sessions Judge Amjad Ali Bohio to submit a report on the incident and breach of security at the court.

In reaction to the incident, Hyderabad SSP Peer Muhammad Shah suspended the court's security incharge inspector Salman Shahani, assistant sub inspectors Fateh Mohammed Majeedano and Khalil Ahmed Sheedi and constable Yousuf Jakhrani. In an apparent acknowledgement of the security breach, he said the suspects had entered the court with a weapon and escaped after shooting Jamali.
