ISLAMABAD:

Young doctors of Federal Government Hospitals on Tuesday expressed concern over the fact that the Ministry of Health has not disclosed the proposed draft that it formulated to fulfil their demands.

They have threatened to recommence strikes from May 4 if the government does not pay any heed to them.

Doctors from Polyclinic, National Institute of Rehabilitative Medicine (NIRM) Islamabad, Jinnah Post Graduate Medical College Karachi and Sheikh Zayed Hospital Lahore announced this during a press conference at National Press Club.

They demanded the government to give them representation in the committee formed to address their issues, which include pay increments, service structure and regularization of contracts. They also expressed concern over the ministry’s failure to announce the package by the given deadline.

Doctors from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, however, were not present on the occasion.
