The MoU was signed by TEVTA Chairman Irfan Qaiser Shiekh and PASPIDA Vice Chairman Syed Jaffar Hussain. Members of the association, including Amir Latif, Abid Hameed, Shahid Hussain, were also present on the occasion.
While speaking at the ceremony, Sheikh said TEVTA and PASPIDA will collaborate for education in the IT and auto sectors. He said that after CPEC, there was a huge demand of skilled people in the country and it would increase with the passage of time.
To meet the demand of a skilled labour force, TEVTA had already started courses like auto mechanic, muto Electrician, IT and many others, he added. The chairman said that people from PASPIDA could now get admission in these subjects as well.
Vocational training institute planned at Gwadar
Sheikh observed that TEVTA recently decided to work in collaboration with Wales in the auto sector and officials will visit the country for further cooperation. The shadow minister of Wales, Muhammad Asghar, also visited TEVTA in this regard.
He said that it was his wish to provide immediate job opportunities to students of TEVTA and now PASPIDA will also play its role for this purpose. He said that there was a huge market for the auto sector in the county and there was a demand of skilled people in this field. He added TEVTA was already providing courses with the latest syllabus, besides providing interest free-loans for students to start their own businesses.
“PASPIDAs collaboration will be a landmark in this regard as it would help increase the salary of the youth of Punjab,” he added.
