A flood of candidates entered and left the university, through the almost one-kilometre-long campus road, amid security checks. The admission test took place four days after an over 20 kilogramme bomb was detected and defused on the road leading to the three universities in Jamshoro.
SU teachers defamed by harassment charges
Among a total of 21,075 candidates who appeared in the entry test at six separate campuses in as many districts, a preponderant number of 19,789 candidates took the test at the main Jamshoro campus. Some 465 candidates took the test at the Dadu campus, 298 at the Mirpurkhas campus, 249 at the Badin campus, 165 at the Larkana campus and 109 at the Thatta campus.
An unspecified number of seats have been offered for admission to more than 50 degree programmes in a range of disciplines including sciences, social sciences, art and literatureAccording to SU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat, the faculty comprises at least 310 PhD qualified teachers including 250 foreign PhD teachers, and 150 masters of philosophy qualified teachers. Over 100 teachers are pursuing their PhD studies in foreign countries and also in Pakistan.

"We are shifting from manual to digital and online operations in all spheres [because] the shift from traditional and manual mechanisms to modern technologies has never been as necessary as it is now," he said, assuring that soon SU will become a fully technology-efficient institute of higher education.
