New board vows to rid ATH of corruption, nepotism

ABBOTTABAD: The board of governors of Ayub Teaching Hospital, (ATH) Abbottabad will make endeavours to eradicate corruption and nepotism from the institution and in future, there will be zero-tolerance for corruption, said the new chairman of the board Maj Gen (retd) Dr Asif Ali Khan.

He was talking to the doctors, paramedics and staff of the institution after the first Board of Governors (BOG) meeting following the selection of new board chairman.

Khan belongs to Abbottabad and is a noted cardiovascular surgeon and former commandant of the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC).

The newly appointed members Amir Mahmood, Junaid Mushtaq and Ahmed Sirajattended the meeting with other members of the board including Dr Asim and Najeeb Abbasi.

Addressing the employees of the institution and said that this board is constituted of very respected and worthy members of the community. “I am lucky and honoured to be a part of this board.”

He said he would try to improve upon the existing facilities of the great institution.
