Mahira Khan and Ranbir Kapoor recently made headlines when they were snapped sharing a smoke in downtown New York.

While the Raees star received flak from for her 'inappropriate cultural values,' many other stood up for her, including the Tamasha star himself. Many celebrities from Pakistan and India spoke in favour of Mahira and slammed those who did not.

Very unfair the way Mahira is being judged: Ranbir Kapoor

The latest celeb to give his two cents on the matter is another Bollywood hottie, Ranveer Singh. In an interview with Filmfare magazine, the actor shared his views on the viral pictures by drawing parallels to his own experiences with the media.

“I can only speak about myself here. There are times when I’m at a certain place with certain people and I don’t want those private moments to be captured by anyone. But, you can’t help it. You got to take the bad with the good,” asserted the Bajirao Mastani star. "I get to do what I love to do and I make a lot of money. But some things are irritating and you’ve got to take them in your stride. It’s a crazy world."

The Padmavati actor also went on to share some food for thought for Mahira, who braved a wave of hate and criticism after the pictures were leaked.

It's my personal life: Mahira Khan breaks silence on viral pictures with Ranbir Kapoor

“Everyone has their own interpretation. Everyone has their own set of values. Everyone has an opinion. You can hear them but you needn’t subscribe to them. At the end of the day, one should just live and let live and focus on more important things," Ranveer said. "Mahira is a great performer and an entertainer. One should ideally engage with her at just that level.”

And we couldn't agree more!

On the work front, Ranveer will soon be seen playing the antagonist Sultan Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati, which also stars Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. The magnum opus is set to hit theatres on 1 December, 2017.
