In a strong statement, Ranbir Kapoor has slammed those wrongfully judging Mahira Khan after pictures of the two hanging out in New York went viral on social media.

The Bollywood actor rose to Mahira’s defence and said, "I've gotten to know Mahira in a personal capacity over the last few months. She is somebody who I admire and respect, for her achievements and even more for the person she is. It is very unfair the way she is being judged and spoken about.”

Ranbir also called out the “inequality in judgment” simply because she is a woman. “What is also sad is the inequality in judgment just because she is a woman,” he shared.

The actor further requested people to stop the negativity and we couldn’t agree more. “I request you to stop the negativity and move on with your beautiful god gifted lives. Peace and Love."

The Jagga Jasoos star concluded, "PS: Both smoking and hate are injurious to health," Miss Malini reported.

Ali Zafar, Hamza Ali Abbasi and many more come to Mahira Khan's rescue - not that she needed it

Ranbir's sensible statement came after his father Rishi Kapoor also reacted to the pictures and said, "He (Ranbir) can meet anybody whoever he wants to, and if people are going to invade his privacy, it's not done."

Many Pakistani actors, including Ali Zafar, Meesha Shafi and Hamza Ali Abbasi, have issued statements in support of Mahira.

Sana Makhdumi | 6 years ago | Reply Live and let live . Media needs to leave Mahira Khan alone . She has the right to make her own decisions, mistakes. choices . We love and respect her as a talented actress and will continue to do so . You might not agree with her personal choices but it's her life and she can choose good or bad, you're not her mama......keep your nose out of it !
Zaida Parvez | 6 years ago | Reply Is Mahira Khan community property? She can live her life the way she chooses to. What right do these moral policemen have over her? They are probably jealous of her achievements anyway.
