Compensate CPEC affectees: CM Khattak

He directed relevant quarters to entertain applications

PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has directed authorities concerned to properly compensate and address the complaints of the people affected by CPEC projects.

He was talking to a delegation of District Batagram elites led by former MPA Taj Muhammad Tarand at Chief Minister Secretariat on Saturday.

The CM sought a report on compensation issue by September 15. Commissioner Hazara Division, DC Batagram, NHA general manager for Abbotabad and CPEC Collector Hazara Region were also present in the meeting.

CM Khattak said that provincial government would ensure transparency and merit in fulfilment of legal formalities and requirements for compensation of affectees.

“We would take and make decisions under the law and would fulfil all the legal requirements to settle the complaints and reservations of the people affected by the CPEC projects,” the CM said. APP

He directed relevant quarters to entertain applications of the affectees related to CPEC projects in sectors including forests, communication, irrigation and other departments.

He also sought a complete report by September 15 for final decision to compensate affectees through a uniform approach.
