The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider on Monday said that the government was fully utilising hydropower and other natural resources to develop the mountainous state.

Talking to a delegation of Chinese construction companies in Muzaffarabad on Monday, Haider said that they were devising a long-term plan to effectively utilise natural resources of the region, Radio Pakistan reported.

Kohala hydropower project to get under way soon

The AJK premier added that people who had been affected by the construction of the Kohala Hydel Power Project would also be compensated.

Earlier in May, Haider had promised that the project would be completed within the stipulated time period.

Addressing the management committee of Kohala Hydropower Project, he had said that the project was part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).  Moreover, he had said promised that all reservations of the affectees would be addressed on a priority basis.
