The House also paid rich tributes to the late MNA for upholding democratic and parliamentary norms. The assembly also expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
The parliamentarians lauded contributions of Gulzar Ahmed Khan and former federal minister Khalid Ahmed Kharal for strengthening democracy in the country.
As many as 22 lawmakers spoke on the resolution including Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Shaikh Aftab Ahmad, and Shahryar Afridi.
PTI MNA Gulzar Khan passes away
Qureshi while paying tribute to Gulzar said, “Despite the fact that the deceased had differences with the party he never violated the party’s discipline.” He said the late MNA in spite of having differences with his party cast his vote in favour of Sheikh Rashid for the election of the prime minister of Pakistan.
Another lawmaker GG Jamal said the deceased lawmaker was a very decent, gentle person and a very refined bureaucrat. He said he was a well-known person due to his efficient service as the commissioner for Afghan refugees. He said Gulzar’s services would be remembered in the country, especially in K-P. He added that the late lawmaker played a very important role in drafting the Fata reforms.
JUI-F’s Maulana Ameer Zaman said the deceased MNA was a sincere and fearless politician. PTI’s Engineer Hamidul Haq said the late lawmaker lived a life with dignity. Shaharyar Afridi said Gulzar Khan was a multidimensional and self-made personality.
Meanwhile, PPP’s Yousaf Talpur and Malik Amir Dogar lauded the services of Khalid Kharal for upholding democratic norms in the country.
The House also offered Fateha for the departed souls of Gulzar Khan and Khalid Ahmed Khan Kharal.

This was the first sitting of the 45th session of the assembly which lasted an hour and 15 minutes and did not take up any business of the day.
NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq presided the entire sitting except for the last 20 minutes when a member of the panel of chairpersons took over.
Leader of the Opposition Khursshed Shah, PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi were also present for an hour as were a number of federal ministers.
The house also adopted a motion to suspend regular business for tomorrow’s sitting to discuss the US President’s statement on Pakistan. Later, the House was adjourned to meet on Wednesday (today) at 10:30.
