Police gun down two robbers in shoot-out

Two of their accomplices escaped in injured condition

Two robbers were killed in an encounter with police on Faisalabad-Okara Road near Bodianwala on Tuesday.

Saddar Tandlianwala Police Station SHO Muhammad Khalid told The Express Tribune, “Four robbers were depriving people of valuables on Faisalabad-Okara Road when a police team reached the spot and challenged them.”

He added the robbers opened fire on the policemen and a shoot-out occurred. “During the crossfire, two robbers were killed while their companions suffered bullet injuries,” he maintained.

The SHO said the injured accused managed to escape from the scene under the cover of fire.

“We have seized looted booty, valuables and weapons from the possession of the deceased robbers,” the official pointed out.


The accused were identified as Mirza, son of Muhammad Iqbal, and Kashif, son of Anwar. He said the deceased robbers were the residents of Tibba Dhak Salah.

Khalid told The Express Tribune, “The Tandlianwala police have no crime history of the outlaws. However, we have registered a case against them under sections 324, 353, 392 and 411 of the Pakistan Panel Code on the complaint of ASI Zulfiqar Khan.”

Robbers gun down bank manager in heist

Eralier, at least two people, including a police officer, were shot dead while four were injured when bandits opened fire on them in Shah Wali police precincts, Dera Ghazi Khan.

According to details, police personnel were on their way to kacha area to conduct a search operation in a boat and when they reached near Kacha Jamal and Ketani areas, members of notorious Attaullah Pat gang opened indiscriminate fire on them. As a result, ASI Khalid Gohar and an unidentified boat man were shot dead, while four policemen suffered injuries.
