ACE book four over corruption charges

Ayesha Khatoon said two of her cousins got her land transferred in their names with the help of revenue official

SARGODHA: Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has arrested four people over corruption charges in Sargodha on Thursday.

ACE probing corruption in BIEK on multiple levels

Officials said Ayesha Khatoon had submitted an application in which she stated that two of her cousins, Omer Hayat and Muhammad Ramzan, got transferred her 93 kanal and 16 marla agricultural land in their names with the help of a revenue official Muhammad Hussain and Patwari Abdul Hameed. She also alleged that Abdul Hameed took Rs30,000 from her for correction in the record.

Meanwhile, police arrested an accused and recovered bottles of liquor in Arban Area police limits. Police said a team conducted raid at Qazi Town and arrested Muhammad Ramzan. The police also confiscated liquor bottles with distillery machine.

Similarly, the police nabbed 16 suspects and seized narcotics and illegal weapons from them. A police official said teams of different police stations conducted raids and arrested 16 criminals with 1,053g hashish, 79 bottles of liquor, nine pistols, a gun and a revolver. Police have registered separate cases against the accused.
