LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan is an expert at telling lies. He has hatched a conspiracy against the prosperity of Pakistan through sit-ins and lockdowns.

However, the people have rejected this negative approach. This was part of the tirade launched by Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif against the PTI chairman in a statement issued on Monday.

He added PTI always levelled baseless allegations against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and was still defeated in every election. “They have established a world record for telling lies, but they cannot deceive the nation,” he said. “Politics is the name of public service rendered with honesty and sincerity. Some politicians are trying to revive their politics through allegations and deceit, but the faces of these so-called leaders of the people have been fully exposed.”

Shehbaz maintained Pakistan was on the road to unprecedented development during the tenure of Nawaz Sharif. “The development of the country during PML-N’s tenure has made politicians hatch conspiracies against our party,” he said.

He said those elements, which were obstructing the development process of the country, were not loyal to the nation. “Imran Khan’s conspiracy to obstruct national development will never succeed,” the CM pointed out.

“The poor people of Pakistan will never forgive the leadership of Tehreek-e-Insaaf for obstructing the development process,” he said.

He added public service projects helped a great deal in raising the quality of life of the people. “During the last four years, public welfare projects have been completed with transparency despite obstructions. Our life and death is with the people of the country and PML-N will succeed in the next elections due to its performance,” he elaborated.

The CM stressed politicians with a negative approach lacked the spirit to serve the public. “PTI repeatedly tried to ruin the destiny of poor people and its chief will be remembered as a mastermind of deceit, allegations and negative politics.”

He said certain elements had put national interest at stake just to come into power and badly damaged the national economy. Shehbaz remarked that his opponents had loans worth billions of rupees waived-off on political grounds and snatched the rights of the poor people.

Shehbaz set to step into Nawaz's shoes

“It is a joke with the nation to talk about accountability by standing beside squatters and the ones who got their loans waived-off.”

He remarked the tenure of Nawaz Sharif was filled with public service, honesty, transparency and trust. “The uplift projects initiated in his tenure were regarded as examples of development.”

He said mega projects are providing relief to the people and Nawaz was a popular leader for the people. “The journey of development will move ahead and political elements opposing development and prosperity will be defeated in the general elections of 2018,” the CM concluded.

Shehbaz Sharif is all set to contest elections for NA-120 in the hope of claiming the seat and subsequently taking his brother’s place as the prime minister for Pakistan.
