ISLAMABAD: Politicians and people from all walks of life on Friday took to Twitter and Facebook to give their reactions over two historical moments, first the Supreme Court’s verdict on Panamagate case and second over PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s presser going live on Pakistan Television (PTV) for the very first time.

It came as a surprise to people that the state run news channel, PTV, aired live presser of Imran Khan on Friday after the apex court disqualified Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from public office over corruption allegations.

Imran Khan in his presser said that Supreme Court’s decision to disqualify Nawaz Sharif marked the beginning of a new era where justice would be held supreme.

People on social media termed PTV news airing PTI’s presser as, ‘Tabdeili a gaye hai’.

Earlier, as the Supreme Court announced the judgment, an intense debate was generated on social media. PML-N and PTI supporters along with their party leaders kept on bashing each other on Facebook and Twitter.  From PTI supporters, crediting Imran Khan for Nawaz’s disqualification, to PML-N supporters calling for the accountability of all politicians.

Meanwhile, the leaders and supporters of PML-N believed that Nawaz Sharif was disqualified over disputed facts. They said that July 28 would be remembered as a black day for democracy and constitution in the history of Pakistan.

Leaders from the opposition party also criticised the PML-N leader Marriyum Aurangzeb on Twitter for saying that Nawaz Shairf will become prime minister for the fourth time.
