
The passengers went on alert and panic spread when a family claimed they lost Rs1 million from a laptop bag which was put in the overhead cabin in a flight bound for Istanbul. The family, keeping a promise to their kids about a foreign trip to enjoy summer vocation, was helpless at the Istanbul airport when they found someone in the aircraft had robbed them.

The incident occurred when the victim family was sleeping in the aircraft and noticed it after landing on the airport. However, the Turkish police and the Turkish airline customer office denied helping the family claiming that they were late to inform and the thief could not be caught now.
Talking to The Express Tribune, Khawar said he, along with his family, was on flight TK-0711 from Islamabad to Istanbul and had kept €4,500 and $4,500 in a brown laptop bag. He said he put the bag on the overhead cabin of the aircraft believing that nothing would happen once inside the plane.

On the plane, they took a nap. As they landed at the Istanbul airport, he approached the bag and doubted that something had happened. He was shocked to see that the amount he had put in the bag was missing.
When asked if he had complained to the police, he said that the representatives replied in a negative response. He said he also raised voice to stop the passengers depart from the aircraft but all went in vain. The crew should have put vigil on the suspicious movement but did not render its duty, he said.
“Will the Turkish airport police and airline customer officers not help even if someone from their own country had lost his/her money?” he asked.
Khawar said he would now have to arrange money and would ask someone for help.
