AIOU gets modern computer lab

According to Dr. Sanghi, the University was being upgraded at par with latest technology.

BAHAWALPUR: In a bid to impart computer knowledge to students, a modern computer lab had been inaugurated at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Bahawalpur Campus on Monday. The lab had been linked to the computer science department and central library of AIOU’s main campus where students will be provided lectures through video link.

On the occasion, Computer Science Department Chairperson Dr Nazeer Sanghi said the special programme had been initiated to facilitate the students of Bahawalpur and Cholistan. He added, “The students will be given special discount on getting admissions in the said discipline.”

Dr Sanghi maintained the students, who passed FA and FSc in second division were eligible for admission in Allama Iqbal Open University’s BS Computer Science programme.

He pointed out the programme consisted of eight semesters with different specialisations which include information technology, general programmes, and networking. “All the programmes are approved from Higher Education Commission,” he said.

He said that modern standards were taken into consideration in BS programme and the University was being upgraded at par with latest technology.
