MIRPURKHAS: Armed men torched a passenger bus in Mir Wah Gorchani, killing a 70-year-old woman, Halima, on Thursday.

The men opened fire at the bus as it was leaving the Mirpurkhas terminal, but the driver, Safdar, drove off. Safdar said armed men chased the bus and stopped it near Bandi Shakh stop and forced him to get out. They opened fire at the bus, causing the passengers to panic and run out. They then sprinkled petrol on the bus and set it on fire.

Mirpurkhas DPO Zulfiqar Maher reached the site but the suspects managed to escape. The DPO said that the incident was the outcome of a dispute between two transporter groups and that further investigations are under way.
