Two officials arrested for receiving bribe

Cases against the accused were registered with the Anti-Corruption Police Station

FAISALABAD: The anti-corruption raiding team arrested two government officials red- handed while receiving bribe from the applicants against government task on Saturday.

Investigations Assistant Director Muhammad Younis conducted a raid under the supervision of Special Judicial Magistrate Faisal Sultan and arrested Assistant Education Officer Musawwar Nazir.

Nazir was seen receiving a bribe of Rs10,000 from complainant PTC Teacher Muhammad Abubakar Kundi for clearing the bills of the complainant in departmental inquiry.

Drug peddlers among 10 arrested

In another raid, the team arrested Parks and Horticulture Authority Clerk Ghulam Abbas while receiving bribe worth 5,000 from a contractor Muhammad Jawwad Ahmad for getting the file of his bill cleared.

The cases against the accused were registered with the Anti-Corruption Police Station under section 161/PPC 5(2)47 PCA and further inquiry against them was under progress.
