Former cricketer Aamir Sohail, by implying that Pakistan's run to the ICC Champions Trophy final was 'facilitated or even staged,' recently stirred up a controversy so ugly for incumbent Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed that it irked even his Indian counterparts.

Aamir clarifies ‘facilitators’ comment

And although Sohail later clarified that his comments were quoted out of context and that he did not mean to insinuate a 'match-fixing' angle, damage was done. By then, Sohail had turned into a villain for the fans of the Pakistan cricket team, who want nothing but positive vibes ahead of the big ICC Champions Trophy final against India.

In a bid to mend fences once more, Sohail has posted another video of himself on his Twitter account, this time asking Sarfraz to block out all the negativity and focus solely on what is arguably the biggest game for Pakistan since the 2009 World T20 final.

Ganguly blasts Aamir Sohail for Sarfraz criticism

"This is my special message to Sarfraz," said Sohail. "Pakistan has made it to the final of a big tournament after a very long time. Pakistan has played really well and you have led the team very well. Ignore all the controversy that has been created...we will clear this misunderstanding when you return. All the very best and make us proud."
