President Trump criticised London Mayor Sadiq Khan on Twitter following the London attacks which drew backlash from political parties and civil society in Britain. He tweeted:
At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is "no reason to be alarmed!"

Earlier Khan had said Britons should not be alarmed to see a higher police presence on the streets of London following the incident.

Farron added that Sadiq Khan has shown dignity and leadership. "We need a special relationship not a supine relationship."
