DSP Okara detained for corruption

Rs60 million worth of vouchers were found bogus.

MULTAN: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested a deputy superintendent police (DSP) Okara in an Rs860 million embezzlement case, confirmed a NAB Multan spokesman in a statement on Friday.

NAB working on proactive anti-corruption strategy

The accused DSP, Tanveer Amjad, was taken into custody for illegally embezzling millions in his capacity as Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) of Vehari police office from the year 2008 to 2012.

During investigations, Rs60 million worth of vouchers were found bogus while investigation of the remaining amount was still in process.
