The orientation was attended by Education Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar and Schools Education Secretary Abdul Aziz Uqaili.

While appreciating the newly hired headmasters and headmistresses, Dahar said the education department has great expectations for these new recruits. He said that it is their responsibility to ensure excellence in education at their respective schools.

Dahar said the education department will recruit 1,000 more headmasters and headmistresses to ensure the attendance of teachers and currently 542 monitoring assistants are visiting schools across the province at least twice a month.

These appointments will help increase the level of education in the province and to work seamlessly the government is increasing the budget for education every year as we are keen to achieve our targets by December, shared Dahar. He said that this year the government has increased the education budget by 17% and it has been decided that students will be given a stipend of between Rs2,500 and Rs3,500.

The girls’ stipend is specially designed to control dropping out of female students, as most of them abandon education after receiving their primary education, said the minister.

He also mentioned that the upcoming budget has an allocation for the fee of Matriculation and intermediate examinations. "Now the students will not leave their education because of lack of finances, as the government will be bearing all the expenses," he said.
