Murder convict gets life term

Abdul Lateef, Abdul Sattar and Jalal had gunned down Muhammad over a dispute.

DERA GHAZI KHAN: A court awarded life imprisonment to a man and acquitted two others in a murder case in Dera Ghazi Khan on Tuesday. The judgment was announced by Additional District and Session Judge Shahbaz Ahmed.

The prosecution told the court that accused Abdul Lateef, Abdul Sattar and Jalal had gunned down Muhammad over a dispute in the precincts of Kot Mubarak police station a few years ago. Later, the police arrested the accused and produced them before the court.

After hearing the arguments, the judge ordered that accused Abdul Lateef was found guilty of the offence and awarded life term to him. The court also ordered the convict to pay fine of Rs0.2 million and confiscation of his property. Meanwhile, the judge acquitted Abdul Sattar and Jalal for lack of evidence.

Woman arrested for plotting murder

A court awarded death sentence to a man for murdering his father in Faisalabad on Tuesday. The judgment was announced by Additional District and Sessions Judge Shakeel Ahmad Sipra.

The prosecution told the court that Ghulam Mustafa had killed his father Allah Ditta over a domestic dispute in 2013.

The police arrested the accused and registered a case against him. After hearing the arguments, the judge awarded death penalty to Ghulam Mustafa.

Meanwhile, Additional District and Sessions Judge Tanveer Ahmad Awan awarded life term to an accused in a murder case within Madina Town police station’s jurisdiction.
