Woman arrested for plotting murder

Suspect initially tried to get murder case registered against her rivals but later confessed her crime during probe

FAISALABAD: Police claimed to have arrested a woman on Saturday over her involvement in the murder a drug addict.

Nishatabad police said Shahzad, 28, a resident of Mohallah Haiderabad, contracted marriage with Mumtaz Bibi of the same locality which was opposed by her relatives. The couple plotted to implicate their rivals in a murder case. Mumtaz developed relationship with a drug addict and used to provide him with drugs.

On Friday, the woman gave drugs to the addict and Shahzad along with his brother Shahbaz killed him. Mumtaz called her in-laws and friends and tell them that her husband was missing from the house.

The police started search for Shahzad but in the meantime, the body of the drug addict was found in a deserted plot. Mumtaz Bibi identified the body of the drug addict as of her husband Shahzad and tried to get a murder case registered against her rivals but when police interrogated her, she confessed her crime and revealed the whole plot.
