0.3m teachers to take education mission forward

The target is to ensure every child in the province is enrolled in school

LAHORE: As many as 337,000 schoolteachers will be trained under a new programme of the Punjab School Education Department’s (SED’s) Directorate of Staff Development (DSD). The inital one-day pilot project has kicked-off.

As per the Parho Punjab Barho Punjab, teachers would be equipped with modern techniques. The target is to ensure every child in the province is enrolled in school, said SED Secretary Dr Allah Baksh Malik. He issued this statement during an inspection visit to the training centre of the pilot project at the Government Girls High School Kot Abdul Malik.

Teachers would also be provided financial and other benefits for their hard work, he said. The secretary added teachers and trainers who achieve good results would be given special awards for their achievements.

Teachers’ training will be held in six districts.
