The head of the team, FIA’s Additional Director-General Wajid Zia, was briefed about security protocols of the building which has now been declared as the JIT’s official secretariat.
The first formal meeting of the JIT is expected over the next couple of days.
According to an FIA official, the JIT head also wrote a letter to the FIA director-general, asking him to forward names of five officers with expertise in probing white-collar crime.

After receiving names, the JIT would pick one or two of them to assist the team in its investigations.
Last week, the top court approved the six-member JIT comprising Amer Aziz of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Bilal Rasool of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Irfan Naeem Mangi of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Brig Muhammad Nauman Saeed of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Brig Kamran Khurshid of the Military Intelligence (MI).
ISI’s Brig Nauman was also part of the team which probed ‘Dawn Leaks’ and Pathan Kot attack.
The apex court had directed the government to assist the team by providing offices and other facilities besides finances. Meanwhile, the interior ministry was asked to ensure the JIT secretariat’s security.

The JIT will submit its progress report on a fortnightly basis to the three-judge bench of the Supreme Court formed to oversee the implementation of the Panamagate verdict.
