ISLAMABAD: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will soon hold a national conference on contemporary trends in the English language and literature.

The conference aims to create awareness about the latest trends in both language and literature, said a statement released by the varsity on Wednesday.

It will also collaborate with other higher institutions in Pakistan and hopefully bring innovations in traditional styles and techniques of teaching.

Moreover, the conference would engage practitioners and researchers in the field of language and literature teaching and encourage greater regional co-operation in research, and the dissemination of knowledge and research findings.

This conference will be a way forward to deal with contemporary patterns and challenges in the field of English language said AIOU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Shahid Siddiqui.

The participants will also discuss pedagogical issues relating to English language and literature during working sessions of the conference.
