ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government had steered the country out of crisis and taken it towards development and prosperity.

He said a few political parties and leaders are busy in fooling people under the guise of politics as they want to hide their own corruption and protect vested interests.

Talking to elected local bodies’ representatives in Wah Cantonment on Saturday, he urged them to continue their mission of serving people without giving any heed to negative elements.

Nisar’s stinging riposte to PPP

The interior minister said prudent policies of the government have significantly helped address challenges faced by the country. He said it is necessary that the administrative machinery, especially the local bodies’ representatives, plays an effective role in assisting him resolve health, education, supply to potable water and corruption issues.

He said people of Pakistan must differentiate between truth and lie, determination and serving own interests, and between those who do politics and the ones who do ‘trade’ under the garb of politics. He said the persons who use politics for corruption are poisonous for both the democracy and politics.

He said such persons can never be loyal to a political party nor can they stand on any principle, let alone taking a stand for the sake of the general public.

Thumping defeat awaits PPP, says Nisar

He said during the past 10 years the previous regimes left a lot of issues unresolved and didn’t even address the problems of the public.

He said the current government not only resolved the issues at hand, but also addressed the matters left by the previous governments.

He challenged the governments of the past regimes to present any evidence of tackling terrorism, load shedding or corruption.

Nisar said with the unity of people of the country, cooperation of state’s institutes and sincerity of the government, the goal will be achieved.

He said the mission of prosperity will remain unfulfilled until its trickle down effects reach the general public.
