A 19-year-old woman was found dead from inside her house in Sector 4 katchi abadi in North Karachi. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy.
According to the doctors, she was strangled to death after being tortured. The deceased was identified as Hira, wife of Manzur.
Khawaja Ajmer Nagri SHO Asif Munawar said several torture marks were found on the victim's body.
Man strangles wife to death
The officer said Hira married Manzur about eight months ago. While quoting the victim's mother, the officer said that since their marriage, Hira's husband used to routinely torture her.
The police, on the complaint of Hira's family, arrested Manzur for further questioning.
A case was registered and further investigation is underway.
