Man strangles wife to death

BAHAWALPUR: A man strangled his wife to death over a domestic dispute in Basti Khoo Tiba Wala, Bahawalpur on Wednesday.

A police official said accused Basheer Shah strangled his wife Nasira Bibi over a domestic dispute. He added, “The couple often used to have arguments and fights over minor issues.”



He said a few days ago both had an argument which was later settled by the intervention of the family elders.

Meanwhile, Qayampur Police Station SHO Liaquat Ali Gul told journalists the police had recorded the statement of victim’s brother in which he stated that Nasira Bibi was murdered by her husband and Father-in-Law Mansoor Shah.



The SHO maintained, “We are waiting for the postmortem report to initiate further proceedings.”

Meanwhile, the police had taken Mansoor Shah into custody while search for Basheer Shah was underway.
