Man allegedly stabs his mother to death
Police cite domestic dispute as possible motive; suspect on the run

A woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her son following a domestic dispute in the Batala Colony area, police said on Friday.
The incident occurred in Chak 224-RB, Nasir Nagar, within the jurisdiction of Batala Colony police station.
Police said Zahida Parveen had contracted a second marriage with Ayub Sabir. Her son, Usama, born from her previous marriage to Allah Rakha and a resident of Marzi Pura, had gone to visit her at her house in Nasir Nagar.
During the visit, an argument reportedly broke out between the mother and son.
In a fit of rage, the suspect allegedly attacked his mother with a knife, inflicting multiple injuries.
She was shifted to hospital in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries after battling for life.
Police took the body into custody, completed legal formalities and handed it over to the heirs.
A case has been registered on the complaint of the deceased's husband, Ayub Sabir, and raids are under way to arrest the suspect, who fled the scene.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a woman has accused a man and his accomplices of sexually exploiting her after allegedly luring her away from home six years ago on the promise of marriage.
According to the FIR registered at Ghulam Muhammadabad police station, the complainant, Musarrat Shehzadi, a resident of Iqbal Colony, Kashmir Road, stated that six years ago the accused, Hassan Abbas and a resident of Makoana, persuaded her to leave her home with the assurance of marriage.
She alleged that the suspect took her to various cities, including Okara, Pakpattan, Narowal and parts of Sindh, where he repeatedly subjected her to sexual abuse. She further claimed that the accused's brother, Allah Ditta, also assaulted her.
