The development comes just over a week after Iranian authorities handed over 35 Pakistani immigrants

Iranian authorities handed over 61 Pakistani immigrants to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) at Taftan border in Balochistan's Chagai district on Sunday.

The detained immigrants were residing in Iran sans legal documents, Radio Pakistan quoted official sources as saying.

The development comes just over a week after authorities from the neighbouring country handed over more than 35 Pakistani immigrants to FIA at Taftan border.

Pak-iran relations: Joint Border Commission meeting ends

On the same day, law enforcement agencies claimed to have arrested eight criminals along the Pak-Iran border in Mashkail area after recovering arms and ammunition from their possession.

On February 28, a high-level huddle between the authorities of the two countries decided that any incident taking place across the border would immediately be shared and investigations would be initiated to apprehend the culprits.

Regional trade: Pak-Iran border being upgraded

The establishment of new frontier markets was also decided during the session to provide economic opportunities to the people. It was decided to create hotlines between the IG FC Balochistan and Commander Border Guard Sistan-Balochsitan for information sharing.

The 20th session of the Pak-Iran Joint Border Commission in Chabahar, including a 26-member Pakistani delegation was headed by Chief Secretary Balochistan Saifullah Chatta. The Iranian commission was headed by the Deputy Governor General of the Sistan Balochistan province Ali Asghar Mir Shikari.
