Let's be honest - one can never be fully prepared for a wedding proposal, and there are plenty of questions men tend to ask themselves before going down on one knee. With wedding season and a swarm of bridezillas taking Pakistan by storm at the moment, we thought it would be fitting to discover the thoughts that flood  guys' minds. Compiled from Women's Health, here is a list of seven things going through men's brains when they're about to pop the question.

1. "Will she hate the ring?"

She might have given some hints, but when confronted with the limitless options of engagement rings at any given jeweller, it's a totally different game. There are cuts, carats, ring sizes, ring styles, precious metals, some boys didn't know existed. And it's all very confusing. By the end of the tedious process of buying a rock, their only hope is that they've somehow built a ring that they're proud to show off to anyone who's willing to look.

2.  "Is this really happening?"

They have dated and broken up with many women in the past, but now they're ready to take the plunge. The ring is bought and the proposal is planned, so this thing is definitely going to happen. He's got thousands of rupees in precious metals in his pocket to prove it. Still, this whole thing feels like a dream.

3. "She's going to say yes right?"

No matter how certain a boy is that she's going to say yes, there's always that slight chance she could say no. And that prospect is absolutely terrifying!

4. "Did I spend enough money?"

While the tradition of spending an enormous amount on a ring is still very much a thing, it's shocking to find out how expensive these relatively tiny things cost, and how the slightest of edits can change the price drastically. No matter how broke he is after the major bling purchase, he is always going to be concerned whether he spent enough (or too much) money.

5. "Can we afford a wedding?"

After dropping that chunk of change on her diamond, it's time to consider the costs that follow: the engagement ceremony, the dholkis and mehendis, and, of course, the shaadi itself. It's enough to make him shed a tear. Since the average wedding is about the same as any given millennial's income, it's safe to say that no, we can't afford it, but we'll make it happen somehow.

6. "Is this whole set up romantic enough?"

Whether guys want to admit it or not, the act of proposing is a competitive sport. They can't help but want to outdo the next dude by increasing the grandeur of their proposal. They know full well that their fiancee will want to brag about them (and they want it too). So, to them, a memorable proposal is not only encouraged, but required.

7. "Am I putting the ring on the right finger?"

In the heat of the moment, the last thing boys consider is which finger to put the ring on. So, at that point, just getting the ring on a finger is a victory for him.
