Iranian envoy calls on COAS, appreciates Pakistan's efforts to eliminate terrorism

Gen Bajwa said relations between the two countries cannot be compromised at any cost, ISPR says

Ambassador of Iran Mehdi Honardoost called on Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday and acknowledged Pakistan's contributions towards regional peace and stability.


"The visiting dignitary appreciated the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad for elimination of terrorism from the country," Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.


Pak-Afghan border to stay closed till region cleansed


Matters of regional security and mutual interests were discussed during the meeting, the statement added.


COAS said that Pakistan Army greatly values historical relationship between the two countries, which can never be compromised at any cost. He said that an enhanced Pak-Iran military to military cooperation will have positive impact on regional peace and stability.
