Billion Tree Tsunami Over 3 million saplings planted in Gallies

ABBOTTABAD: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has so far planted 3 million saplings in different parts of the forest under the billion tree tsunami campaign.

Plantation drive: 300,000 trees to be planted in capital

This was stated by the District Forest Officer Gallies Division Sardar Salim while addressing a ceremony to distribute free saplings among farmers on Tuesday.

Salim added that they had set a plantation target of 3.33 million for the current season in the Gallies Forest division. Of these, he claimed, 3 million saplings had already been planted while the remaining would be planted by the end of this year.

The officer further claimed that he had personally planted around 300,000 saplings.
