LAHORE: Planning, Development and Reforms Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that the use of modern technology has played a vital role in the prosperity of the nation. Addressing a laptop distribution ceremony at the Virtual University on Saturday, the minister said it is an era of a knowledge-based economy in which a strong link between academia and industry is vital for the national development. He said that countries which did not benefit from the industrial revolution remained behind in terms of economic growth. Iqbal said in the future only those nations will be able to attain higher socio-economic development, which have latest communication systems and use modern technology.
