Busting criminals: SIU nabs suspected car lifter

Police officials claimed that they expect to recover the stolen car after Shah reveals where he had hidden the vehicle

ISLAMABAD: Amid rising street crime in the capital, a car lifter was nabbed, police said on Saturday.

The Special Investigation Unit of Islamabad Police apprehended the suspected car lifter Ismail Shah.

Shah was suspected of stealing a Toyota Premio (VB-923) car. SP Investigation Capt. (retired) Mohammad Ilyas constituted a team of the anti-car lifting cell comprising ASI Noorullah, ASI Habibullah along with constables to track car lifters.

The team apprehended Shah, a resident of Tangi in Charsadda. They recovered a mobile phone, an iPhone 6S, which had been stolen from the victims along with the car. Shah, police claimed, had confessed that he along with two others had stolen the car and the mobile phone.

In a statement, police officials claimed that they expect to recover the stolen car after Shah reveals where he had hidden the vehicle.  In addition to being charged for stealing the car, he has also been charged for stealing the mobile phone.
